The Continental Gallery, every Thursday (mostly) @ 830PM

DKM-reduced

Well, jeez, it’s been a year or so since I’ve posted here. What happened?! Lot’s of things, and, nothing.

I took a sabbatical, pretty much, to clear my head, reinvigorate my muse, rediscover myself as an artist and musician.  I began working for my friend Jack Sanders, learning a thing or two about building, designing, welding, working with a team, working with students, and most importantly, finishing a project. To say it has changed my life would be an understatement. While doing this I’ve managed to write several (dozens) new songs, practice my piano and guitar, stay healthy, and play some shows around town, mostly at the Continental Gallery. I’ve re-emerged on Facebook, have a twitter account, and use Instagram; finally embracing the technology I’ve loved to hate. I have a record basically completed with Adrian Quesada, and will be going to Muscle Shoals, Alabama in November to record another one (more on that later).

During this re-emergence I’ve been reminded of this little place in the universe that has been neglected. For those who have followed me, I know it has been difficult, if not impossible. I apologize. My plan is an eventual redesign of this site, featuring reliable updates, music, photos, etc. I suppose I’d like this to be the place to communicate (how long can Facebook last?). I need to update the links to my social media sites and will do so as I learn how. I have recently uploaded videos of new songs to youTube. I will continue to do so.

This is all random, but this site needed action. The new photo is by my friend Dave Mead. I hope you enjoy, and participate.

Thanks,

Dd

The Coveters are back! Jan & Feb

The Coveters are back this month and next at The Continental Club!  We’re sad to have lost our feminine side (Suzanna Choffel) to the big apple last year, but we’re still going strong with Dan Dyer, Warren Hood, Michael Kingcaid, Jeff Botta, Wayne Sutton, Brad Houser, and subs that include Naj Conklin, Kyle Thompson, and who-knows-who else.

Come see us one of these Tuesday nights! MIDNIGHT show.

see you later

this Saturday, Nov 26 marks the last DAN dYER Band show of 2011, so please come out and give thanks for a great year, shake off some cobwebs, and enjoy a beautiful night of music with us at Momo’s.  also on stage that night are Wendy Colonna and George Devore.  Dd trio plays at 10:30pm, then it’s off to Marfa for a month of inspiration; writing, building, welding, sky-watching, campfires, and more.

Dallas show postponed…

Very sorry to announce that the show this Saturday night, October 22 at Rock House Films in Dallas, TX has been postponed.  This was a mutual decision between team Dd and the venue, per several fan requests and TX’s near-victory in the World Series that night (fingers crossed)!  Stay tuned for the rescheduled date and more shows in Dallas soon…
