SXSW Highlights

It was a pleasure and an honor to share the stage with the great Alejandro Escovedo at this year’s Austin Music Awards, alongside Amy Cook, Joe Ely, Garland Jeffreys, and Bruce Springsteen. Here’s a clip of Dd singing Alejandro’s “Can’t Make Me Run”.

happy ho ho ho

here’s a little gift from last year…

and in case you haven’t checked it out recently, there are a half dozen or so new tracks available for streaming or download (name your own price) on the music tab, or directly on the Bandcamp page… please check them out, tell us what you think, pass it on. HAPPY HOLIDAYS and thanks for all the love and support in 2010.

we’ve got some great shows coming up in 2011 (back in San Antonio with Bob Schneider on Friday Jan 14, Cactus Cafe with Amy Cook, Suzanna Choffel and other friends on Saturday Jan 29, and a weekly Wednesday residency at Momo’s), but if you want some company while you shop for NYEve dinner, the Dd Duo will be playing a FREE evening show at Central Market Westgate (South Lamar) from 6:30-9pm on Friday, Dec 31… come out and say adios to 2010 with us.

the hammer of Thor on I-35

we had a light show greet us in Oklahoma last night as the van rolled north en route Salina, KS. tonight, the Dd trio performs there as part of the Oakdale Park summer concert series, before heading back to Oklahoma for a great night of music at The Blue Door with Albert Aguilar and Suzanna Choffel.

this Saturday marks a much-belated return to Dallas, where the Dd trio makes their debut at Oak Cliff’s famously resurrected Kessler Theater, alongside Bryan Wakeland (of Polyphonic Spree) and Nicholas Altobelli. then it’s back in Austin for a very special show at The Parish, where Amy Cook wraps up her badass east coast tour and shares the bill with the Dan Dyer trio.

then Stubb’s (with Jeremy Messersmith & Daphne Willis)… Coveters at the Continental Club… Dd solo in El Lago, TX… the list goes on. check the calendar tab for details.
